Janet Couture was a young 21 year old woman living alone in the small city of East Hartford, Connecticut (USA) when someone murdered her in the apartment she rented in October of 1973. Police arrested 77 year old George LEgere for the brutal murder. He had already been serving a 25 year old prison sentence from 2021 related to a brutal sexual assault and attack on a woman in 1984 in the town of Avon, Connecticut. No word yet, if Legere is responsible for other crimes but in the late 1960’s to late 1970’s the town of Vernon and surrounding areas were hit by several missing person and murders of girls and young women. According to an article by the Associated Press, Legere was a College Graduate with a MAsters Degree from UCLA.
