Suzanne Jovin was bright, popular and a caring person. The blue eyed, 21 year old Yale University student born in Germany, yet her life was violentally ended on an early morning on December 4th, 1998 near the Yale University campus in New Haven, Connecticut. Those that knew her are still haunted by her violent death and that no one has ever been arrested and prosecuted for it. In the beginning, Law Enforcement in New Haven, Connecticut focused on her thesis advisor a man named James Van De Velde, but he has never been charged. Some experts say the investigation was bungled from the start and that police should have no focused on Van de Velde.
The Connecticut Insider’s Randall Beach wrote an article recently about the case that talks about this and a potential potential person of interest that amateur sleuths think should be looked at. Twenty five years later, Suzanne’s family waits and hopes for answers.
There is also a video by a group of amaterur sleuths that look at the involvement of a possible mystery suspect alluded to in the article by Randall Beach. https://www.ctinsider.com/connecticutmagazine/news-people/article/suzanne-jovin-yale-murder-investigation-18533355.php
